  • Trauma informed therapy recognizes the ways past experiences, relationships, and overwhelming life events can impact the nervous system, emotions, relationships, and sense of self. Rather than asking “What is wrong with you?” trauma informed therapy asks “What happened to you?” and “How did you learn to survive?”

At Sage Wellness KC, therapy is approached with compassion, curiosity, safety, and respect for each person’s unique story and lived experience.

  • EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. EMDR therapy helps the brain and nervous system process painful or overwhelming experiences that may continue to affect emotions, relationships, beliefs, and daily life.

Sage Wellness KC offers attachment focused EMDR, which combines trauma healing with an understanding of attachment, emotional safety, nervous system regulation, and relational experiences.

    EMDR may help with:

    • Trauma and PTSD • Anxiety and panic • Childhood wounds • Relationship patterns • Negative self beliefs • Grief and loss • Emotional overwhelm

  • Attachment focused EMDR is a gentler and more relational approach to EMDR therapy that places strong importance on emotional safety, nervous system regulation, and the therapeutic relationship. This approach recognizes that trauma can come not only from major events but also from experiences of emotional neglect, inconsistency, shame, rejection, or relational disconnection.

At Sage Wellness KC, attachment focused EMDR is used to help clients reconnect with themselves, build internal safety, and heal painful relational wounds.
