Meet Jill Hamilton, M.S. LMFT (she/her)
I’m Jill, licensed Marriage and Family therapist and founder of Sage Wellness KC.
As a therapist, I hold space with a warm, grounded presence and an intuitive, attuned energy that helps people feel safe, seen, and supported. I believe therapy is more than just sessions. It is a sacred journey of remembering who you are, reclaiming what may have been lost along the way, and becoming more fully and freely yourself.
I place high value on working through a systemic lens, meaning I do not see people or problems in isolation. I do my best to understand each person within the context of their relationships, family of origin, culture, attachment patterns, and the larger systems that have shaped their story. Together, we explore not just what is happening, but how patterns were formed, how they are maintained, and how they can shift.
I work with individuals, couples, and families at all stages of life. Whether we are tending to old wounds, navigating relationship patterns, or finding new ways to connect, we do that work together. My clinical training is diverse, with a special emphasis in trauma and attachment. I often use Attachment Focused EMDR to support healing at the root, helping people move beyond surviving toward deeper connection, freedom, and wholeness.
Sage Wellness KC is an inclusive and affirming space where all identities, bodies, stories, and ways of being are welcome. I value authenticity, boundaries rooted in care, and the kind of honesty that is gentle and human. With a blend of humor, humility, curiosity, and respect, I invite you to come exactly as you are. Together, we create space for repair, growth, and transformation in yourself and in your relationships.
Enneagram 5w4, one-to-one
As an Enneagram 5 with a 4 wing, Jill brings a unique balance of depth, insight, and creativity to her work. Her 5 core offers curiosity, thoughtfulness, and a strong clinical foundation. She’s someone who seeks to understand the “why” beneath the surface. The 4 wing brings emotional depth, intuition, and a reverence for the unseen. This blend allows Jill to bridge the head and the heart, offering both evidence-based support and soul-level connection.
“As someone with a background in behavior analysis and mediation, I’ve always been drawn to tools that help us understand how people think, relate, and grow. The Enneagram offers a compassionate and systems-based lens for understanding human behavior. It helps us explore not just what we do, but why we do it. It reveals the deeper fears that often drive our reactions and helps illuminate the path toward growth, change, and connection.
I share my own Enneagram results because I believe in the power of transparency and shared language. When clients see how this framework has helped me reflect on my own patterns, it opens the door for curiosity, insight, and deeper therapeutic work. Whether we are exploring relationship dynamics, self-criticism, or old protective strategies that no longer serve us, the Enneagram helps me meet each client where they are with clarity, compassion, and direction.”

What People Are Saying About Jill
“I think my mindset around therapy has always been about fixing what is broken. Jill has never made me feel broken. On the contrary, she has helped me recognize my strengths & celebrates even little wins, while at the same time, helps me work through the things where I might feel stuck. It has helped forge the pathways in my brain to be able to do these things on my own as well.
What I do say to friends & really anyone who will listen, is that I have a kick-ass therapist! I've had many other therapists over the years, & while some of them were "ok," all of them eventually lost my trust through actions or inaction. Jill isn't in this to simply listen to your woes, collect your money & go home. She wants to work herself out of a job, but at the same time, allows patients to heal at their own pace.”

“Jill is amazing therapist that has approached with kindness and curiosity in the things we have worked on. She also challenges me in the best ways when I have felt stuck. Through talk therapy and EMDR what felt like major issues coming into therapy are now manageable issues, breaking up the triggering memories and processing them through our sessions.
Jill has many tools in her toolbox and she's always willing to learn on her own even if she's not as familiar with something. Jill will always make you feel validated in your feelings, while bringing the challenge when you need it so you can continue to grow and heal.”

“When I meet with Jill, I feel like I’m meeting with an old friend - a very wise, but very real and authentic old friend. She seems to intuitively know when to encourage and when to push, when to listen and when to advise. Honestly, the growth I’ve experienced the last five years of meeting with Jill has impacted my entire family. It’s changed the way I interact with my children and helped me communicate better with my partner. I know Jill would turn around and say that I did all of the hard work myself, but I couldn’t have done it without her cheering me on.”
